Weather page
You can visit Chiang Mai all year round, although the absolute best weather is around winter time (Nov - Feb), where it averages around 12 - 20 degree Celsius, and lower in the mountain area, but sunshine is quite strong and dry.
The rainy season (Jun – Oct) offers you various adventure activities such as trekking in the National Park area, whitewater rafting, Hilltribe Village treks and homestays, etc.
Summer time (Mar - May) is quite hot, but there is the biggest festival in Northern Thailand - Songkran Festival (Water throwing Festival) - to join.
Chiang Mai is dryer than Bangkok so make sure that you stay hydrated and drink enough water each day.
